DO NOT ASK FOR SHEET MUSIC!!!
I've been wanting to do something like this for something like a year now. And it's finally done!
This is a giant medley of pieces of music /songs belonging to the "japanese geek culture", mostly anime theme songs and game music. I first heard the original "Niconico Douga Medley" about a year and a half ago and at the time recognised aboout three of the tunes in it - now I know enough of that music to play almost 20 minutes of it!
Creating and recording this was quite a pain! Choosing what tunes you want to put in is quite hard (at the end most of my choices were random :D). This kind of music is not very adapted to the piano - if my right and left hands were sentient, LH would be bored out of its mind playing all these repetitive bass lines. And then you have to somewhat memorize all of it (because writing up sheet music would be way way too long!) and play at a decent level for 20 minutes. Luckily for me my second take was satisfactory (though I might re-record the final part because I do feel bad for messing up there.).
I really like the fact that my shiny piano acts like a mirror and makes my left hand more visible that way :). I wanted to to a japanese-style "hands-only" video but i guess I sort of failed at that, my face showed quite a lot :p
And now for the songlist. I had a lot of exclusive commentary to go with it too but it's too long for a video description. Not sure what I can do with it now. Maybe annotations.
