Nier: Automata is a good game. Let's get that out of the way. It's not perfect: and I still have a bunch to do for this review. But for those who can't wait for my full review to pick up the game, let me talk a little bit about Nier Automata, and why it's looking like Platinum has learned a little bit from their past.....but need to learn a bit for their future in open worlds.
