Most of the quests are boring. The only above average one was the Devola, Popola singing one. Every other is just a waste of time. The 1 or 2 lines of dialogue are not worth the 5 minutes of back and forth running farming items. The worst were the food episodes with Yonah. Go around fetching food to get a cringe "haha big brother got to eat bad food" skit, twice.

In the desert part I was spazzing out, not because of a seizure, but something even worse: a child.

Also I might've seen what the endings require, meaning I'll collect all the weapons at some point. I swear it was by accident fr fr ong no cap.

Carrying on, like Taro fashion: existential dread, losing hope, underwhelming enemy design, philosophical mumbling, edgy asspulls. God damn Shadowlord, letting fades roam free, making the world a paradise. All that's missing is calling it the Shadowrealm.

Just like Automata, the enemies here are also quite ugly. Just really bland, and often damage sponges. Doesn't help that upgrading weapons requires a million resources. No way am I going to get all the weapon lore. So much effort. Why does Noir look like a regular book, that had a piece of sheet metal attached to it? Why doesn't it have a decent design, like Weiss?

Those escort missions. I almost forgot there used to be a time, where devs though it was a good idea to have the NPC walk at a snail's pace. No idea why they didn't change that here. It's a recent remake.

English voice acting is amazing. Well mostly Weiss and Kaine. Main character is as interesting as chalk. The dialogue in general is actually quite witty at times. Mostly the generic Japanese thing, but when Kane starts shooting slurs or Weiss gets confrontational, it really shines. If all the story was only filled with the good stuff this would've been so much better. But it's bogged down with fetch quests and that weird dream world book mechanic. Don't get me wrong, it seemed to be quite meta, but too long didn't read. If only the game writers in general learned to replace the stupid fetch quests with spaced out lore, making it more digestible, it would be so much better. Instead it's 80% snore-ville, and the rest is jam packed to the end of a chapter/act that makes it all seems so abrupt, kind of lazy uneven pacing.

Best character Kaine now out of commission for the majority of the game. Major loss. Can Weiss carry it alone? Will Uhm... get any more interesting? I doubt it, but guess we'll find out soon.
