Ninja Blade - I can't believe fromsoft made this game (teddyras)
1They thought they had something with this game lol. Ninja blade came out around the same time as demon's souls and this one was supposed to be the winner of the two, but look at which game influenced the company's games for the next 15 years. Honestly I can't think of a more late 2000's game if I tried; this game just epitomizes how games felt back then. There's a QTE every 3 minutes and I'm not even kidding. Almost every mission in this game contains a turret section and they all overstay their welcome. Although this game doesn't have as much brown and grey as other games of the era, they definitely desaturated it like the rest. Aside from that, it feels kinda like a devil may cry knockoff: it feels alright to play most of the time, but the combos and whatnot aren't great, like I don't think I started with a launcher move to do air stuff, but I clearly had dmc type air combat I could do. They have a 3 sword system, but one of them is the slowest sword ever in an action game, the other is basically meant only for destroying swarms of bats, then you have the ninja blade, so just use that lol. Randomly the game does baffling things like having a too dark to see area with no real clear way to light it up, random boss mechanic that doesn't work right, just random bosses that show up and aren't interesting and waste your time, QTE to finish off normal enemies for some reason, ninja vision that didn't really help at all. It's definitely a kuso game, I had fun for the wrong reasons lol.
