We are back with a new Ninja Gaiden/Ninja Ryukenden game!

This time it's Ninja Ryukenden 3, which is the Japanese version of Ninja Gaiden 3. Infamously known as a difficult as nails video game on the Nintendo Entertainment System, the Japanese version is not only better but much easier. What made the American installment a difficult one was the lack of checkpoints and infinite lives, which ironically the Japanese version had.

This version has some really cool upgrades like enhancements to your sword (a must for boss fights), and the fireball Ninpo is still intact and in full effect here. Ryu Hayabusa this time around is fighting a paramilitary group that is trying to use the powers of the demons he fought in the past games in the series, to transform their country into the greatest in the world.

This game predates the Sega Master System version which is a sequel, and almost like a mini-reboot, where they would focus on Ryu's stories in Japan dealing with his own Japanese ancestry. It's still a very fun game independent of the version you play, and it gets extremely addictive, because fuck it, there is nothing like MOTHERFUCKING NINJA GAIDEN!

He is after all, the Daredevil of Japan, so why wouldn't he be fucking cool?
