We're back on the channel with a PC game, and this time it's a REALLY good one.

Deus Ex Human Revolution was a reboot of sorts to the Deus Ex franchise, preceded by Deus Ex in the 90s and Deus Ex Invisible War in the 2000s. I have a large scale history with this title, because this is actually my Elder Scrolls, if you will: I always saw it in boxed format around PC gaming stores during the 90s to 2000s and also the 2010s, and I've always played it a little bit, but never too much of these titles... however my experience was always some of the most pleasurable in all of gaming.

So what do I love about this? The setting for once is quite enjoyable and relatively unique and cool, the fact it's a Eidos game to the core (and you know I LOVEEEE me some Eidos), it's got the best hacking mini-game I've ever seen (far from real hacking mind you, but it's pretty damn cool nonetheless, capturing those nodes can get so relaxing) and the shooting gameplay is actually quite fun.

So this one like I've said, is a reboot, and considering it's on the 2000s to 2010s, as opposed to the 90s were Terminator and Escape From New York was probably a higher influence, than we have this installment taking its chops from Matrix and Robocop. And believe me, it works, even though Matrix is far from a ideal movie, and one that just attempted to over-complicate itself on its Arnold Schwarzenegger dreamtime movie style nonsense (and to those who don't know, the first one was shot in Sydney, in Australia itself), nonetheless the characters here are very reliable, very cool to deal with and they're given a lot of cool bits here and there that I love like you being able to pressure Sarif and uncovering the tragic nature of Jensen's return to the living, or being able to make amends with Pritchard in a investigation all of your own.

So the only shortcomings of this title sadly are the same that plagued Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines... and that's the lack of pure freedom to chose your own faction. Thankfully, the also good Deus Ex Mankind Divided happened to fix quite a lot of those issues, but debased it's own storyline and narrative. Still, they've ratified this issue, and I'm quite happy to say that Deus Ex my friends, it's here to stay... and it's here to slay.

So enjoy the two part session, it was great fun to do!
