Adventures Of Batman And Robin. Sega Genesis Version. Playthrough.
It was requested before by Batman fans, if I would play this one. And I did.
This is kinda cool actually, just very difficult, you need cheats to play through this one entirely. Well at least I needed some cheats for this game, because even though you got a good life bar, you can get hit by everything and things come at random. Sounds like a certain game isn't it? A game with two macho dudes ready to kill aliens... Contra anyone!? :D.
So yes it feels like Contra, but it's not exactly a bad thing. It's got some interesting levels at times too... it's far from vertical, but it ends up being fun to traverse some of these boards. Meanwhile, as you progress, the game will toss aerial stages at you, like a shmup. These I'm really not so much a fan of, because they go way too long and add nothing to the experience. Well at least they are there for people who want some variety.
The one thing I have to say is pretty nice about this title is the graphics. They are gorgeous for a Sega Genesis game, with really detailed, multi-layered levels that could very well rival something I've seen out of a Super Nintendo, or maybe dare I say, they can look better than other games on 3D enabled consoles. Like Oddworld or Shinobi Legions whose levels were very stationary and simplistic, but with great gameplay mechanics. This got a bit more of a relaxed feel on the gameplay and plays it very safe for its time, but in the end its got some pretty cool design choices that helps it stand out.
So it's not a bad game at all, and I fully know it's considered a Sega classic because of it's good qualities. I will tell you this much: it's a lot better than another certain Batman game that's coming up on the channel, also for the Sega Genesis. And one that I grew up with too... just my luck, right!? :x.
In other words, I like the game. It's pretty fun, actually.
