If Ninjala's Battle Royale mode is not...Battle Royale-ish enough for you, here's one that is directly based off the battle royale games like PUBG and Fortnite that quickly became an emergent genre! Ninjala can only handle 8 players at a time though, so it won't be the 100-player insanity those games (and Tetris 99 and Pac-Man 99 and such) are. Hence, the matches here are more subdued and shorter. This is a Special Battle, playable only on select weekends, and this weekend (September 10th through 12th, 2021) is the first weekend where this is available. Hence everyone's kind of new to this and figuring out what works and what doesn't.

Just as Beast Attack! is solely set in Shinobi City and Ninjala Striker! is set only in Croissant Arena, all matches of Last Ninja Standing! are set at WNA Academy. The match begins with people at the spawn points as usual and 240 seconds as usual. This time, however, reflective of their inspirations, the neutral area will contract. Being outside of it is allowed, but HP will drop while you remain out of bounds. At 180 seconds left, the neutral area's boundaries go only as far out as the inner walls, meaning the outside paths are no longer safe. When there are 3 players remaining and the match began with more than 3 players, or there are 90 seconds left, whichever comes first, the neutral area will contract all the way down to just the plus-shaped structure in the middle plus a small amount of ground around it. The neutral area does not contract any further.

Anybody who is KOed in Last Ninja Standing! is automatically out for the rest of the match. Meanwhile, you can see who took you out, if anyone. If they get taken out, the camera shifts to who was responsible for their knockout. The match ends once one player remains or time runs out, whichever comes first. Anyone who's KOed will have their score dropped to 0, meaning placement of knocked out participants is based on how long each of them has survived. If 2 or more players remain when time runs out, the winner is decided by score. I am not entirely certain as to how scoring is done here, as it's concealed from the players.

This is my favorite Special Battle type yet, probably because matches are short and it uses gameplay not much different than the main game. They're short enough that I could fit five matches into one video!

I'm kind of short on time though, so individual match descriptions will come later. Chances are this video will go live before I can type in the rest of it, since I have errands to do around when this video becomes available to watch. Feel free to keep commenting though.

Match #1
Last Ninja Standing!
IPPON Katana
WNA Academy
Song(s): "Spooky Mansion"
This was the first Last Ninja Standing! match I played. I didn't last very long, as I was still trying to figure out the rules of this sort of match that isn't explained in the intro. If you're wondering why my weapon looks so weird (or so ordinary, depending on how you see it), this is an alternate model of the IPPON Katana based on the blades used in Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon Slayer. Specifically, this is Zenitsu's sword, which I got out of the Gumball Machine as I wanted to give it a whirl.

Match #2
Last Ninja Standing!
IPPON Katana
WNA Academy
Song(s): "Spooky Mansion"
As you can see here, everybody's scores are shown as "?" in the real-time stats except for those who have been knocked out, whose scores are 0. There were also some very high-leveled players in this match. It seems at least one of these players' strategy was to relentlessly go after everyone else, as people got eliminated here very quickly. I personally feel that's risky because there's a good chance you'll be eliminated yourself if you engage in battle.

Match #3
Last Ninja Standing!
Pop Eye
WNA Academy
Song(s): "Dusk Falls"
Eventually, I'll play normal matches so you can hear more than 40 seconds of this music. The season introduces a new weapon type anyway, with two weapons. Instead, you'll hear the warning music a bunch.

Match #4
Last Ninja Standing!
Pop Eye
WNA Academy
Song(s): "Spooky Mansion"
When I gum-bound someone in the previous match, they weren't stuck for long. But when I was gum-bound here, I was stuck all the way until my HP ran out. Was the Gum Laser nerfed?

Match #5
Last Ninja Standing!
Pop Eye
WNA Academy
Song(s): "Dusk Falls"
It's way harder to catch someone with a Baiting Shark here, it seems. I wanted to see how well it'd work, but it seems to be a flop. Maybe I'll try planting it on walls later.
