Nintendo Switch OLED may still face potential Joy-Con drift issues
The new Nintendo Switch OLED may still suffer from potential Joy-Con drift issues.
This is down to the fact that the Joy-Con controllers that come with the new model are the same stock controllers that are used in the original Switch console that was released in 2017, a Nintendo representative told GameSpot.
The Nintendo representative said: “The Joy-Con controller configuration and functionality did not change with Nintendo Switch system (OLED model).
“The configuration and functionality is the same as that of the Joy-Con controllers for the Nintendo Switch system.”
Joy-Con drift has been an ongoing problem with the Nintendo Switch, and occurs when the analog stick of the controller inputs false commands to the console even when in the neutral position.
Many users have complained about the drift issue and there are even multiple lawsuits pending over the problem in US courts, while Nintendo’s president Shuntaro Furukawa publicly apologised for the issue back in 2020.
