Nitrux is a Debian-based Linux distribution, suitable for laptops and desktop computers, with the beautiful NX Desktop and MauiKit applications.
Its main desktop environment is Nomad, a KDE Plasma desktop enhanced with โplasmoids to create a special combination of aesthetics and functionality.
On top of that, the project also focuses on creating redistributable applications using the AppImage format.
Now, Uri Herrera of the Nitrux project has announced the release of Nitrux 1.7.1.

The monthly Nitrux releases continue, and Nitrux 1.7.1 is here as what would look like a point release minor to last month 's Nitrux 1.7 update , but is actually an important milestone as it comes with the latest and greatest. Linux kernel 5.15 LTS from the default.
The latest version, Linux 5.15.6 is included in Nitrux 1.7.1, which also updates the Linux 5.4 LTS kernel to version 5.4.163, the Liquorix and Xanmod kernels to 5.15.0-6.1, 5.15.6 and 5.14. 15-calculate, as well as the GNU/Linux-Libre LTS and non-LTS kernels for 5.15.6 and 5.14.20 respectively.
Furthermore, this release comes with the KDE Plasma 5.23.3 desktop environment, which is accompanied by the KDE Frameworks 5.88 and KDE Gear 21.08.3 software packages so that you can enjoy the latest versions of your favorite KDE applications.
The latest KDE Plasma 5.23.4 update should also be available in the next few days as an update.
Also included in the Nitrux 1.7.1 release is MauiKit and Maui Apps 2.1.0. This latest version of MauiKit and Maui Apps comes with many new features and improvements to make your experience more enjoyable and feature rich on phone, tablet or desktop.
As of this release, the Kvantum SVG based theme engine for Qt4/Qt5 and KDE Plasma is no longer available in the default installation.
Download and try Nitrux 1.7.1
The minimum ISO has also been updated and can be used to install Nitrux with desktop environments other than KDE Plasma.
If you want to install Nitrux on your personal computer, you can download version 1.7.1 of Nitrux right now by going to the distribution's download page .
Obviously, Nitrux 1.7.1 is here for new users who want to deploy the Debian-based distribution on their computers. Existing users of Nitrux 1.7 and earlier can upgrade their installation to version 1.7.1
