No Major Glitches - All Bosses with Roundabout / Spread route in 29:59!
37This was a really fun route to develop! The run itself lost quite a lot of time to Ribby/Grim RNG and misplays on Phantom but still managed the sub 30 in a cool way I am happy with. As of 6-5-20 this puts this run at 3rd place on the leaderboards, 2nd place being SBDWolf using Peashooter/Spread and 1st place being Jason2890 who used Lobber/Spread. That means as of now the top 3 are all using different weapons which is really cool.
Some notes on roundabout. For the strats I was able to develop, I will say it suffers some time loss on Root Pack, Goopey, Cagney, Bon Bon, Beppi, Briney, Phantom Express and The Devil. However it saves some time on Ribby, Honeybottoms, King Dice and Sally.
One interesting note is that while Beppi is slower, it is more consistent by a little bit with roundabout/spread as you can 1-cycle any donkey color no matter what side he spawns on which is not the case for lobber/spread.
Probably the best thing about the route though is having much more power against the slot machine with a very cool strategy I call the "Hurricane" which involves setting up a bunch of roundabout EX's + roundabouts to really destroy the machine ASAP. The other great thing is having a much more consistent Honeybottoms while it also is a bit faster.
The BIG weakness of this run though is Grim. There is so many things that can go wrong where even though my best time ever is actually FASTER than lobber/spread, my average time on the fight is much worse. There is just so many things out of your hands that can screw you and even the things that you do have control over are usually insanely hard to play properly. This fight can have like 15 seconds of time variance depending on how things go and is the major run killer/RNG boss.
Overall though the route is really cool and a perfectly fine alternative for people that love roundabout or just want to try something new! My practice bests with roundabout/spread are only about 5ish seconds slower than lobber/spread so the potential is definitely there but as of now it does fall a little short in consistency and possible time saves. I do think some strats could still stand to be made better so maybe there is hope for it tying lobber/spread if anyone wants to put in a lot of time to make that happen.
