With the Abandoned game mode added, No Man's Sky gives you that extra feeling of isolation as every Space Station and the Anomaly are abandoned, no NPCs anywhere. You also aren't tasked with the tutorial or questlines involving Artemis, Polo, Nada, Apollo, or Null. So, it presents a different challenge in how to get upgrades or tech in a universe where you are truly alone.
