No One 0-4's Me Twice in a Row... - Overwatch 2 Stadium
1I check out the new competitive gamemode added to OW2, Stadium. Most people are really excited for this, but actually I am not. I am the naysayer, the doomer in all of this. Why? Well a few reasons. I don't like that you cannot counter swap, something that has been a core mechanic in OW since time immemorial. You will sometimes just lock in an awful team matchup. I also think this will be "solved", because comps are locked in, within about a week, where there will be a meta 5 heroes that are just optimal picks, and picking outside those heroes will be deemed throwing. I don't like that it's in 3rd and 1st person. Pick a lane Blizzard :P Finally, I think this will be like mercenaries from Hearthstone. It will take too many resources to support two different gamemodes and eventually it will be binned maybe a few months/year down the line. I appreciate that this is basically using assets from the disastrous OW2 PvE attempt, but eventually, they will have to create more new things to keep it fresh. I feel it would have been better to not spend 2 years working on this and adding more to the core gameplay mode instead...
Irrespective of my gripes; I still want to check it out as perhaps it is more fun than I think it is going to be.
