No Philips, This Is NOT A Game Console :: A Philips CD-i Retrospective
I take a look at one of the 90's forgotten media systems, the Philips CD-i. It was an all-in-one media centre that supported a variety of different CD formats, and even featured a number of games including those you would've seen in memes.
It obviously didn't succeed though, costing the company over a billion dollars, but it did have a few good things going for it (for the time) and its CD-i format was the precursor for DVDs.
I explore the hardware as well as a number of games for the system, and whether or not it's worth you reliving the nostalgia.
