My first two-cycle run for the category. I was following the two bottle, no aliens route. This is a bit easier than the aliens route as you do not need to manage time after getting Epona's Song and Garo Mask. You do get Song of Storms on Night 2, which means learning a cool jump across. I saved a bit over 20 minutes from my PB, with plenty of time left over. As usual, I'll detail some time losses below.
Woodfall:
I really need to nail down Palace movement. I have trouble making the tricks consistently, I'll fall off into the poison water, or I get caught by the guards most runs I do.
Snowhead:
The temple movement still needs a lot of work, and I need to be able to get Goht speed kill consistently. I seem to get it in practice, then I end up too far to the left to hit Goht with arrows.
I actually had time in this run to go ahead and do Goron Race, but I left to be safe. Next time as long as I'm blowing up the rock before 4:30 I will do an attempt at getting the Gold Dust.
I had to leave early to get Epona's Song, so my splits were messed up from here on out. I also didn't get to the Curiosity Shop in time for them to open, so I finished Woodfall Temple. Ideally, I'm doing this in one trip at the beginning when I get better, or I come back with Hookshot to make the dungeon a bit quicker.
Great Bay:
I don't think I got caught by pirates this attempt, so that part went really well. I failed the jump slash and lost a bit of time. Great Bay Temple went pretty well too.
Ikana:
Overall, went pretty well. Not much to say on these set of splits other than I'd have liked to complete the route in the proper order to save the maximum amount of time. My Ikana gameplay needs some ironing out, but otherwise it feels pretty strong, and I know where and what I'm doing now. Except for fighting Gomess and breaking my only Deku Stick, with me thinking it was fine. In all the three cycle runs I did, I always had two sticks. Well, not here.
Majora:
This was terrible. Because I didn't have a Deku Stick, phases 2 and 3 took a very long time.
Overall, I'm happy to have saved 20 minutes immediately upon switching routes. I imagine sub 3.5 hour is free for me now. Onto Sub 3 we go!
