And so she came to the Lands Between.
Halberd in hand, shield braced, she sought the soonest foe to test her mettle. And lo, there was but a spent-out wretch, more dried out than a stalwart teenager the first day after No Nut November. His very joints creaked as swung his shoddy short sword to and fro, and struck true did he upon Noel’s tasteful and functional armour.
It could be that her abundant tracts of land did impede her, but, whatever the reason, she could not land a parry to save her life. Yet, who needs to parry when your brain is pure muscle? Not Noel.
Leaving the denizens of the dark reduced to the very dust and squalor in which they lived, she stepped into the light and open air without. And there she met with an ewe of impeachable goodliness. No black sheep was she, with golden fleece, honeyed voice, and a bizarre insistence that she had no wrong.
Woe it was then that the Knight of the Ever-Bulk was due for her portion of protein. But, forsooth! No sooner had the first lamb chop dropped to the earth than the music turned from ambient to ‘Welcome to Limgrave, Motherfucker’. A rival knight burst from the saplings, interrupting Noel’s feast, armour agleam in gold, horse beefier than a Texas steer on a strict diet of other bovines. So imposing was this challenger that the very frames themselves failed to show up in their due order, creating a most disconcerting game-play experience.
Rolling amid thundering hooves and the sweep of wicked halberd, Noel bit the dust, and darkness shrouded her eyes. When she awoke, Santa was roasting Smores over a campfire while crucified human decorations looked on.
Somewhere, a sheepish voice whispered.
‘Watame warukunai yo ne.’
