Noiz2sa - Stage 1
6First out of ten stages of the free shmup known as Noiz2sa.
This game starts off pretty smooth. The main difference that I found with this game when compared to other shmups is the size of the hitbox: It is incredibly small. Pretty often, it also gives a pretty bad feeling of security. Why is it bad? Because you feel invincible. Throughout the first stages, everything is smooth and easy going, and you start thinking the hitbox is way too small for you to even get hit.. that is, until you reach the second half of the game, only to find yourself dying several times. That's when you realize that the red dot on your "shape" actually serves a purpose.
I really enjoy this game. The graphics are simple, mechanics are simple, everything is simple in it. The only negative side was entirely based on the recording itself. You see, the game uses a limited color palette, and when I started recording with FRAPS (in fullscreen since the game does not have a replay feature), I'd lose the majority of the colors, and purple became pale yellow, almost white, making the bullets nearly invisible in the video. I soon (not necessarily true.. it took me a while) found out that it was because of my Aero desktop. Recording in Window mode worked, but was too hard to work with. For some unknown reason, I decided to switch my desktop theme to "Classic Windows", which pretty much disables everything, even the wallpapers. What next? Boom. FRAPS recorded everything with success, with every colors. So if you ever record with FRAPS and encounter the same issue, just switch to "Classic Windows" theme and you should be set.
