North and South is a charming and light hearted game about a war that killed nearly a million people. For some reason this didn't seem to get the bad attention that Cannon Fodder did. Never understood that.

Anyway, it's a very enjoyable game. The controls are a bit tricky and probably take some getting used to. I fail spectacularly in this except on the easiest setting. The difficulty arises from having to control infantry, cavalry and artillery, but only one at a time.
