You know, I really hate the new (digital) version of Director's Cut.

I have a physical copy of the thing--which I probably should have used, in hindsight--but I made the decision to go digital a handful of years back to ensure that I'd never need to worry about the condition of an aged PS1 disc again. When I loaded it up, I was pretty shocked to find that the OST was completely different. I was more shocked to find that the music was considerably worse.

Somewhere along the line, the fine folks at Capcom decided to swap out the OSTs. I don't know if they did this with later physical copies of the Director's Cut, but I do know that my copy has the original music (and a demo copy of RE2, which contains a special track for the briefing room that was removed in the final product), and I am eternally grateful for that.

My point with all of this is that the music that plagues this playthrough does not do the game justice. If you're new to the series, or have only been exposed to the updated music, I strongly urge you to seek out the old OST. It makes a world of difference in the atmosphere of the game, and in the feeling you're left with at the end. I was going to select a few of the tracks and link them below, but frak it.
