My fastest run yet.

Doing RE2 in one sitting is always a gamble for me. So many things can go wrong at pretty much any point. It's strange, now that I think about it. RE1 has very specific moments that can give me trouble, but the rest of the game plays pretty much the same every time I play it. RE2, on the other hand, is like a full deck of wild cards; just about every encounter can turn out differently with each subsequent playthrough. There are a handful that I consider invariable--the first licker, for instance--but most feel like a roll of the dice.

This is in no small part due to critcals and stun states, both of which can be either good or bad. Sometimes you might get lucky and down a zombie that was inches away from a grab. Sometimes you might knock a zombie back as the remaining crowd advances, effectively nullifying the critical and forcing you to expend more ammo. Sometimes a zombie might say 'frak the rules' and dive at you head first. It's all entirely situational, and you have to adapt accordingly within the span of a few precious seconds. This layer of gameplay was missing in RE1.
