Nostalgia Ops: Shadow of the Colossus (final)
"It's finally over."
This is a long one, I know. I made the hard call of not splitting up the final two colossi to keep in line with my previous format of two stabbing victims per video. I hope that's alright.
Upon sitting through this again during editing, I found that I could chalk a handful of my trouble here up to poor play; I forgot about stabbing the hands during the final colossus, for example. By not remembering certain segments and making certain choices, I made the game much harder than it should have been for me, hence the length.
That said, the game did screw me more than enough to leave me feeling like I was the one with assorted holes in my head. I did my best to leave in the most painful segments, but I believe that I ended up cutting about an hour's worth of me fighting the engine overall. You'll thank me later.
At the end of the day, though, this game is like an old-style Chevy. It may not be top-of-the-line anymore, it might be rusting a smidge, and you have to smack the radio a couple dozen times to get it to stop doing that weird static thing--but it was built to last. Beneath the faded paint and patches of rust lies a powerful frame that valiantly fights back against the testament of time. It might be a losing battle, granted, but the battle is not yet lost.
Past, present, future; it'll get you where you're going, for a little while longer at least.
