Hey everybody! Welcome back to my The Long Dark Story Mode (Wintermute) playthrough, Grey Mother wants us to check out the tunnel and let her know what we find. Hoping I will get some more clues about Astrid I don't waste too much time heading out but first I grab some soup that Grey Mother made! I haven't gone this far past Milton before and I am being cautious but as safe as I try to be it doesn't help me with the cold. I guess I have been getting used to having Grey Mothers eternal fire around. I eventually get to the tunnel but it is all caved in and there is no sign of Astrid. I guess all there is left to do is head back to Grey Mother and let her know. Unfortunately for me this is when things start not going my way. A wolf in the middle of the road spots me and he does not care at all about the flare I threw at him. I think I had a lucky escape but the wolf only runs a few feet before coming back for more. I learn to avoid this area and take the long way around to Milton. In Milton though there are more wolves waiting for me and another one gets me before I can get away. I finally get around and get back into Grey Mothers house to let her know the news. She is sad and needs more rest. Not sure why she needs rest though she didn't just get mauled by wolves. Just give me the damn gun lady!

The Long Dark is a thoughtful, exploration-survival experience that challenges solo players to think for themselves as they explore an expansive frozen wilderness in the aftermath of a geomagnetic disaster. There are no zombies -- only you, the cold, and all the threats Mother Nature can muster.
