The Back Story:
I started composing and writing music on sheets by hand when I was very young. When I finally got to a music school with notation software, I was happy to use Finale and Sibelius because I couldn't afford these kinds of things in High School. This artist life isn't cheap.🤷🏽♀️ Using software was not as fast as writing with my hand because I didn't know how to use it that well but it ensured I could print and share my music with my band mates quickly. Flash forward and enter @dorico from Steinberg. I loved using Cubase in music school (now it's too expensive for me😭) so I decided to give Steinberg's Dorico a try because the other 2 notation software programs slowly stopped updating to composer's needs. I LOVE how easy Dorico was to figure out. They also have many walkthrough tutorials to help you integrate with Cubase and write music to film. It's constantly being improved and I see it getting better and better if it continues at this rate. I am using Dorico Elements right now and it is limited with the number of instrument parts you can add to an ensemble (I find the 24 players enough for me) but you can always upgrade to pro to get all access. If you are like I was and don't know which software to choose to buy/download, you can try both Dorico Pro and Dorico Elements free for 60 days and you can still download Dorico SE for free.
