This is an Asteroids style game. It has a roguelite/permadeath element to it and all the upgrades offer the chance to create incredible builds either with randomized gambles or mod trees. This is basically it. You dodge attacks, kill enemies to level up, and avoid singularities. The good thing about this simple, but randomly generating wave types (bosses seem to be the same though): it provides the chance to test and experiment some wickedly powerful combinations.
The game isn't perfect (seriously needs re-bindable keys and window size adjustment options) and the game can lose its' appeal pretty quickly, but it is a well structured game doing what it does well. I can't find any reason to not recommend it unless the control scheme is that much of a deal breaker (A to move with thrust, S to shoot, mouse or left and right arrow keys to rotate).
