236Prison Architect continues and as winter arrives the temperature drops dramatically, which does cause us some issues around the prison, namely quite a lot of frozen pipes. Unfortunately, and perhaps inexplicably, it seems that the pipes to freeze are the hot water pipes, not the cold water ones, so we see our hot water network grind to a halt. Fortunately there's lagging to put onto the pipes! Unfortunately it's expensive and takes a while to fit...
Our plan to move the canteen and kitchen is finally sorted out and we're able to get enough food together to make sure we don't have a full on hunger riot.
With the old canteen then removed, we get access to the top end of the island which means we can build ourselves all sorts of exciting new rooms. We decide to go down the route of education so we build a classroom where our inmates can acquire some basic skills to prepare them for life away from our prison.
We work out how to book people onto the kitchen safety program so we see a number of people attending that, which is wonderful! We also realise that we need to assign some work hours into the daily schedule so our inmates can report in to work at the places we've assigned for them.
