You start with only Lono, but the rest of the family will slowly join over the next few turns. It's possible to win before they all show up though.

To win, we have to get to Captain Noway before the Shogun is cornered by the enemy army. However, you can get the minimal casualty achievement if you manage to get one of the teams to defeat Noway before fighting any mooks.

Noway belives that Kalbi betrayed Draconia, but it looks like he's a victim of propaganda.
9:20 Ending Sequence
Make sure to equip the Shogun well.
Talk to Shifu to initiate the ending. There's an achievement where you have a brief amount of time per map to get the character to the exit, but it's hard to pull off because of the auto-scrolling. I gave up on the underground waterway map.
It looks like Sero knew Marlene somehow. Is he the grandpa of the family?
15:20 Pirate Alliance
Shogun returns to the castle, but he finds that all the Draconian soldiers were killed by some sort of magic. Lono wonders if it was Sero, but Sero is supposed to use sagecraft rather than true magic.
The pirates want to form an alliance with Kalbi against Draconia, but the initial talks escalate into a battle between Shogun and the pirates.
17:43 Boss: Captain John Young
Shogun will keep asking the captain's purpose for being here until he hears a satisfactory answer: all the pirates in the world are being targeted by the empire.
It's possible to win before the battle automatically ends, but it requires a bit of luck and preemptive grinding, since Shogun's X-Fight is random.
18:58 Kalbi Village/Port
The Shogun finally agrees to this unlikely alliance.
In the south inn of the port area, you can talk to Victoria to learn that her lover, Edgar, went missing in the Mother's Den with a bunch of excavators. When you head downstairs, Malorne will give you the oil needed to use the lever to open the den.
You can loot additional rooms in the castle now that it's been retaken.
I think the game got Abrams and Noway mixed up.
The fortune teller states the family will be separated again.
39:19 Mother's Cave
You have to follow the ghost to find notes, but there are both roaming and mandatory encounters with powerful shadow enemies.
As for the notes, John Erdice was in charge of the excavation, but he went mad and abused his own family because of a cursed orb. He ends up tying the up so he can take the orb for himself.
Eventually, you'll find a camp room with the engagement ring, but north is a very powerful boss.
49:57 Kalbi Village
Hand over the engagement ring to learn about a sealed door in Kalbi Dungeon. Talk to Danielle in the church to learn that you need a goblin to open the door, and then buy spicy jerky at the store. Run around outside until you encounter Glen, and then use the jerky on him to enlist his help. Buy one more jerky and meet him at the sealed door.

The Reach is a facility that spawns randomized dungeons of various difficulty levels. You can use this facility both to gain levels and to use an allocation system.

This is likely Edgar's wife, but she's been cursed by the orb!
She starts out weak, but she warns that she'll lose control of herself. When she transforms, she has a countdown for a scripted HP absorption barrage, which can easily kill low HP characters. She can transform once more to gain even stronger spells. There's no real strategy other than grinding and spamming life potions, except for maybe poisoning with Muffins.

The mother is free from the orb, but you can use it to curse a party member permanently.

Sadly, my game is glitched by an update, so I need to use NG+ to regain access to the Reach.
