Description:
Velvet was once a hunter in Aball Village, but her bro-in-law Artorius sacrificed her younger brother Laphicet in a ritual that will supposedly save the world from Daemonblight. After 3 years in an island prison, Velvet escapes to seek revenge on Artorius, even if it means embracing her newfound Daemon nature and resorting to a life of crime.

Talk to one of the pirates to advance the story, since they're the ones scouting the checkpoint.
During the sunset segment, you might notice that Zaveid is drinking in the inn.
The scouts report that the Exorcist inspection team was attacked by a pendulum-wielding Malak, which fits the description of the Malak that Aifread ran into before he was captured. Eizen runs off by himself and won't rejoin for a bit.
13:31 Danaan Highway
Eizen confronts Zaveid about Aifread, but Zaveid is as tight-lipped as usual. Velvet suggests they all work together to get past the barrier, but Eizen and Zaveid are too stubborn.
15:00 Boss: Zaveid & Eizen (Intense)
Although they can attack each other, they're still fairly tough bosses because they're both caster and fighter hybrids.
16:56 Danaan Highway P2
The two Malakhim finally agree to work together, though Zaveid leaves after breaking the barrier.
20:49 Empyrean's Throne
Eleanor questions Artorius about the Daemon beneath the capital, but Artorius dodges the question.
You have to destroy various objects that maintain the remaining barriers. Be sure to get as many of the unique gear drops from this segment of the game as you can, since you won't be able to return to the Midgand region for a while once you challenge Artorius.
32:45 Boss: Artorius (Intense)
Despite not using Innominat's power for this fight, he can tank pretty much everything. Eventually, he'll finish you off with his Mystic Arte.
34:22 Assassination Failed
Velvet gets stabbed, but she attempts to use this to her advantage and attack anyways. Too bad Artorius has plot armor and dodges anyway. The other named Exorcists show up, so we stand no chance now. Velvet tries to attack again, but Teresa knocks her down and orders Laphicet to kill her and then himself. However, Laphicet's power resonantes with Innominat, causing an Earthpulse portal to appear and suck the party in. Eleanor ends up falling in too, so Melchior sends a communication orb after her.
39:40 Earthpulse
Velvet has another nightmare and wakes up to find Laphicet overcome with Malevolence. She carries him for a while and finds Eizen and Eleanor. The only way to save Laphicet from turning into a dragon is to have Eleanor act as his pure vessel, so we have no choice but to trust our foe. Then the Earthpulse spits us out to a new location.
47:29 Yvolg Ruins
Eleanor got separated from Velvet and Eizen, but the two run into Rokurou and Magilou instead. Make your way through the ruins and take note of the Spider Queen's location. I recommend postponing her until after you fight Eleanor at the exit.
The deal is that if Velvet wins, Eleanor has to serve her.

To make things fairer for the player, Eleanor doesn't seem to spam guard as much as other bosses. Ironic considering she drops the Guardbreaker's Ventite.
1:01:12 Yvolg Ruins P2
Eleanor tries to kill herself so that she doesn't have to obey Velvet, but Laphicet binds her movements. That night, Eleanor wakes up and chases Melchior's communication orb. Artorius orders her to pretend to join the party so she can deliver Laphicet to the Abbey. However, Velvet and Eizen eavesdrop on her.

Now that Eleanor is here, there's more expedition treasure dialogue available.

While Guardbreaker's Ventite will make it easier to start a combo on her, she still has plenty of powerful spells.
