Ah, this stage. This is the stage where I failed so many times, the game put the Super Guide block here. Well, the challenge will be quite different when Mario's a lot smaller! And thus more maneuverable, especially in the air.

The gimmick here is pretty simple: Shifting-Floor Cave's solid ground consists largely of horizontal and vertical pillars that move back and forth rhythmically. What makes this tricky is not only that there are so many consecutive ones and that the pillars retreat completely into the mechanisms that apparently make them move. This means clearing this stage requires both speed and precision. There are also a lot of annoyingly-placed Piranha Plants, which means this stage is made a lot easier by having access to fireballs. It's still not a cakewalk though.

Even with Mini Mario's incredible aerial abilities, you can see that I was still having problems and had to quickly correct Mario's trajectories to get out of the way of enemies and suddenly moving land.
