The new 16-pin connector, also known as 12VHPWR, has been causing quite a headache for Nvidia. With reports of RTX graphics cards burning, and this 16-pin connector melting, something had to be done! So, they introduced the new and upgraded 16-pin connector, the 12V-2x6 connector, so quietly, that it was already out a few weeks ago!
