Nvidia Geforce Now Mac beta The Witcher 3 1440p Ultra 15" late 2013 Macbook Pro MacOS 10.12.5 HDMI
5Disclaimer: I'm not a Mac gamer and don't recommend Macs for AAA gaming in general. I just tried this Nvidia Geforce Now beta because the concept is neat enough to be entertaining for a while, provided that the service works as advertised, and because I have a 2013 Macbook Pro with retina screen and the means to pass Geforce Now-streamed 1440p gameplay to a capture device via HDMI, which I also thought would be entertaining to test in this setup The one light endorsement I'll give to Geforce Now, based on what little I've seen so far of how it handles The Witcher 3, is that it transforms the retina screen into a feast for the eyes, despite the small amount of compression artifacts, without most of the usual, major compromises; the game really shines on the rMBP's screen, and also looks very good on my Asus PG278Q 27" 1440p screen, connected via thunderbolt-to-displayport adapter cable, on which I played while video and audio were also passed out of rMBP's hdmi to the recording device at 1440p upscaled to 2160p/30 (note: HDMI bandwidth is insufficient for 2160p/60, but Geforce Now maxes out at 2560x1600 anyway). The Dualshock 4 controller was plug-and-play, with no setup or tweaking required.
