Nvidia's RTX NvEnc is beyond impressive... (GPU encoding explanation, x264 Medium Comparison)
1,787I've used Nvidia's "NvEnc" GPU video encoder for my content creation on a daily basis for quite a few years now. But when it comes to low-bitrate live streaming, there's always been a trade-off of lower quality for higher performance compared to X264 CPU encoding. That is... UNTIL NOW! I put Nvidia's new RTX/Turing architecture's NvEnc improvements to the test vs x264.

(NOTE: The Halo clips are mostly 30FPS due to an issue on my OBS config. Doesn't impact quality comparisons.)
