Welcome to a new OBS Studio Tutorial - How I Record LAG-FREE 4K 60 FPS w/ Nvenc & OBS Studio (Best settings & setup guide). I've used these settings across multiple PCs since mid-2015 to record lag-free 4k60 tutorials, gameplays, and so on and I want to share them with you.

NOTE: If you're NOT running a SSD to record to, you will want to lower your bitrate to 50mbps or 100mbps. They will still look great :)

To get lagless 4k60 (or 1080p 60fps, 1440p 60 fps, and so on) recordings in OBS Studio, I recommend using Nvenc (or the new AMD equivalent), setting it to VBR, "High Quality" and something above 50,000 kbps or 50mbps.
Please record to a secondary hard drive or SSD when recording high-quality, high-bitrate files from OBS Studio or any recording application.
