Obscurities in Literature: 超絶プラモ道 Original SF Aoshima Plastic Model Kits!
So here's something different I thought I'd try- books. I like books. LOTS of books. This one is really near and dear to me.
Growing up there was a local store that stocked a ton of stuff in this book, which is a collection of Aoshima's as close to copyright infringing model kits they churned out during most of the 70s and 80s.
Thumbing through this it's cool to see how on the nose they were with the popular model kit & toy trends that were cycling through Japan at the time.
I either built or encountered a fair chunk of the stuff in this book (as well as its sister book I have on the shelf) in my formative years when they were dirt cheap, and it's fun going to places today like Mandarake and seeing how pricey these kits are today.
I picked my copy up years ago but a quick search on Amazon Japan turns up a few (pricey) copies. I tried putting a link to Amazon JP but it won't display correctly (despite having Japanese fonts installed).
Here's the official title if you want to search for a copy!
