Para Bellum: Dweghom Dragonslayers/ Hold Thanes revealed!
As luck would have it, when I went to get some Dragonslayers, they were all sold out online. There were plenty of Hold Thane boxes though.
Good thing they are actually one and the same kit! Admittedly the difference is most likely the command card included, but the actual kit is a dual kit and an be built either way!
Probably the most complex Dweghom kits so far (in terms of parts required to build), both versions of this kit make for some seriously big and beefy models. So much so you could probably hand wave them away as ogres or some such in different scaled games. They're already bigger and bulkier than the Hold Warriors, and when you take into account the Dragonslayer's large helmet crests and chunky shoulder pads, they really are an imposing- looking force on the table.
An annoyance though- being so complex means an awful lot of time got spent having to cut out and clean off all the parts. There were A LOT.
All said and done, this is probably my favorite Dweghom kit so far. I love the gladiator/ samurai/ power armor vibe they've got going on. A more industrious hobbyist could probably come up with some cool modifications to these kits and could probably scifi them up with very little trouble.
Despite my best attempts to steer clear of larger games, coupled with the fact that I keep painting these models, I fear I may end up having to play a game of Conquest proper before this stay at home order is said and done...
