Observer Yawn Montage...VERY disappointed! | VR Mode Issue/Bugs/Glitches (FIXES IN DESCRIPTION!)
20If you're having issues with Observer ie Steam VR Mode popping up making it unplayable or any other bugs, issues, crashes or glitches that make the game unplayable, check below to find a list of tips, tricks and fixes. There are ways to uncap fps, increase FOV, skip intro, get 21:9 Ultra Wide Support and Remove or Disable Chromatic Aberration And Depth Of Field. If you like Layers of Fear, you probably won't like Observer by Bloober Team SA. This game is available on Linux, Microsoft Windows, OS X, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In the future I plan to cover all bad, alternate and true endings, all Easter eggs, all secrets and secret areas/locations, glitches, exploits, weapon locations, scary/funny moments, and DLC this game has to offer if you guys want me to continue to play it. If there is HTC Vive VR or Oculus Rift support in the future on the PC version, I'll play the game again completely in VR. Observer PC Error and Fixes - All of these are taken from GamePur

1: Uncap FPS
To Uncap FPS in Observer, you need to edit the config file. Go to the location of the Observer Config file, the path will be something like this - "\AppData\Local\TheObserver\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor". Make change to this "GameUserSetting.ini" - change the parameter that reads - "FrameRateLimit" set it to 500.000000. FrameRateLimit=500.000000
2: Increase FOV
Go to Engine.ini and add this line:
[/script/engine.localplayer]
AspectRatioAxisConstraint=75
After adding these lines don't forget to save Engine.ini file and make it read-only.
3: Skip Intro
To skip those annoying intros in Observer you need to make a change to Movies file. It is location at \steamapps\common\Observer\TheObserver\Content\Movies. Go to this file and rename all Loadingscreen and Loadingloop files. For example - make it X_Loadingscreen (I put "X_" at beginning of those file names. This is something I always do), you can use what ever you want.
4: 21:9 Ultra Wide Support
Observer does not support 21:9 Ultra Wide. Bloober Team has stated that this feature won't be available at launch. It is going to be implemented later on via patch update. Sadly, there is no ETA at the moment. "Not at launch but we're working on getting it implemented with an update. No eta at the moment on when that'll be but we appreciate your patience!" reads a statement from Bloober Team.
5: Observer Starts In VR Mode And Is Unplayable
A lot of players are complaining about this issue. It is a bug, and we have yet to receive an update from the Bloober Team on it. According to the reports we have received, a lot of players with headsets are having this issue and no one can use the game. We have to wait for the development team to fix this issue. As a temporary workaround, I would suggest you to try unplugging your headset, the game might work just fine.
6: Remove or Disable Chromatic Aberration And Depth Of Field
It is completely up to you on whether you want to disable Chromatic Aberration in Observer. This feature suits perfectly with the aesthetic of the game, but there are few players who want to remove/disable Chromatic Aberration during gameplay and during the time they want to take a screenshot. So here's how to do it.
Go to this Folder - C:\Users\your user name\AppData\Local\TheObserver\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor. Open the Scalability file and paste the following four lines.

r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
r.SceneColorFringe.Max=0
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
Save the changes and set the file to READ-Only.
About Observer
Observer is a survival horror video game played from a first-person perspective. It is set in 2084 Poland following a "digital plague" that cost the lives of thousands, resulting in war and rampant drug use. The player controls Daniel Lazarski, a Cracovian detective of the Observers police unit tasked with hacking their targets' memories and fears with a device known as the Dream Eater. Equipped with augmented vision split into Electromagnetic Vision—which scans for electronic devices—and Bio Vision—which scans for biological evidence—he is able to analyse and highlight certain objects in his environment, which in a hacked brain is subject to active change. Objects can be interacted with and examined. A conversation tree is used for dialogue.
