Octodad Dadliest Catch is a video game featuring Octodad an octopus pretending to live the life a human with his human family. The story of Octodad Dadliest Catch is very simple and can be summed up in only few words. However what Octodad does in its gameplay puzzles and humor makes up for its flawed story and short game length. The controls in Octodad Dadliest Catch regardless of your platform of choice is complex and very unique. The fun of Octodad comes from the poor controls and wacky humor and daily chores of an octopus pretending to be a human.

Octodad Dadliest Catch is only a 2hr game in its length making it one of the shortest games of all time from the current generation. The length of the game is its biggest flaw to some however the story doesnt feel like it overstays its welcome. Since the story is so short and sweet you get more time to enjoy and focus on the controls and humor of the content that is there.

For players who want more of Octodad Dadliest Catch there are 2 extra levels that are prequels to the main story and have you do various tasks to complete the story. Even with this extra content, Octodad Dadliest Catch loses a lot in replayability as there really is no post-game. Players can collect all the Ties scattered in the game for a trophy or achievement however they are difficult to find and offer nothing in terms of actual content other than a collectible much like a digital stamp collection.

The visuals and art style of Octodad Dadliest Catch is simple yet dated even for the time of its release and has aged a bit. While the visuals are simple and dated the humor of Octodad and his roll in the story makes up for the lack of details in the character models and art design. Colors in Octodad are vibrant for most of the game only dipping in small sections of the aquarium level.

Gameplay of Octodad Dadliest Catch has players doing many puzzles and tasks AKA chores and completing various challenges to progress the main story. There are side objectives in the form of collectible ties that are much like a digital stamp book you can collect for extra content to achieve a trophy or achievement. Many tasks and chores early in the game offer the best gameplay and main take away from Octodad. The quality of the gameplay falls heavily during the aquarium section of the game in the third and final chapter of the game.

Octodad Dadliest Catch is available on every platform and is worth a buy if your looking for a fun experience to tell your friends about.
