Octopath Traveler Boss 46: Darius (Therion Final boss)
2Our first final boss and to be honest Darius is by far the easiest of them. Usually the advice is to go for your protagonists final boss first so they will no longer be locked in the party however, some of those fights are super hard so if you need the levels I'd say this is a good one to tackle first and Maw of the ice dragon is along the same route so it's the level grinding route as far as I'm concerned.
Darius is just kind of boring as a final boss. The only things he really does offensively is hit the entire party with physical attacks and can go up to 3 actions.
His main gimmick that separates him from the other final bosses is stealing your items at the start of the fight. But you'll get them back after the first break and Darius only has 4 shields in phase 1 so what could be a dangerous trick is little more than a mild annoyance.
Defensively he has 5 weaknesses after breaking him the first time he will lock 3 of them and alternate which ones are locked for the rest of the fight.
Overall not a very hard fight and he has one of the lower health pools as well actually he has the second lowest of the final bosses (2 of the other final bosses with less than 100,000 HP have 2 phases) and the boss with the lowest HP has far more shields. Really this guy just can't do much against you.
