For the first time, Oculus Quest promises Rift-level immersion with a standalone price tag. Its field of view, pixel density, tracking latency, form factor, and controllers can deliver the same kind of "presence" we demand from desktop VR. But developers face major challenges fitting desktop workloads on power-efficient standalone devices. In this talk, we will discuss SDK features and workflows for achieving presence on Oculus Quest and Rift. Using Unreal Engine 4, we will show you how to maximize immersion, quickly iterate on Rift, and optimize for standalone to reach the largest audience.
