Off the Wall was a game in development by Tengen (a subsidiary of Atari) for PC Engine and TurboGrafx-16. Two prototypes are known to exist -- a dumped version (which we're playing in this video) and an undumped version being sold by the author for $6,800. The latter is alleged to be more complete but what's here is still intriguing. It's a breakout style game that doesn't just require you to remove all the bricks but instead clear a path THROUGH the bricks to an exist. Had they added a few more features (multiple walls for the paddle, enemies to avoid or confront, the promised power ups that aren't included) it could have been good, but I suspect that they cut their losses on what was likely to be a minor success at best on a platform with little support in the U.S. and dwindling support in Japan.
