Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth is, in my mind, the most immersive game that I have played. By immersive I mean you actually feel like you, the player, are the character in the game, something very important in the horror genre that many games miss completely. Most people credit this game as being made by Bethesda. Thankfully, Bethesda only published it- Headfirst Productions deserves ALL credit. If this ran on the horrid Bethesda engine... I don't even want to think about it... Apparently, this game is on Steam for $10 now, which is great! More people get to play and don't have to hunt down a mint copy if they are OCD about it like me. . I can't attest to how well the Xbox version is, but I think the PC version is a direct port, some of the game files are named Xbox this or Xbox that; not to mention the graphics compared to other releases of the time. Greg Chandler composed the great soundtrack to this game, there are no official releases so I'm glad that it was incredibly easy to extract from the disc. Headfirst was kind enough to leave all the music in separate .ogg files!
