Oh No! More PD Rip-offs! - Part 6 - by LemonAmiga.com
💩 Just when you thought it was safe to boot up your computer, here's another instalment of the crazy train of Amiga public domain insane rip-off games. This show features several games which were missed off the A-Z list, for whatever reason, or were discovered later.

The A-Z (or Top 100) PD Ripoffs was supposed to go out in time for X-mas and New Year of 2018, with the further parts in April and then September of 2019. But I knew fans wouldnt want to wait to watch the whole series in little bits, so after December 2018 I put the project back until after the 2019 summer break, to think about an Autumn release.
When I got a new job in April 2019, I put the next Playguide series on hold, thinking the job would be huge and take along time. But this was a false start, and the work dried up quickly by June. While I had nothing better to do over the summer months, I pulled out the A-Z and started to tidy it up ready for a Christmas 2019 release. This was long before I came up with the idea for the Roman Holiday specials, and I just wanted to be able to finish these off and put something out for fans for Christmas.
By the middle of July, the A-Z was mostly complete, but I had found so many more rip-off games since I started on this journey! I became restless to include those examples, and recorded several more games for this show (part 6), with the intention of calling it "Oh No! More Rip-offs. I also split off the best games from the whole A-Z list to make a part 7. By this stage I had over 100 games on the list, with even more showing up by the day. The games in this video were arranged into a fun order, not necessarily A-Z!, and the audio corrected to enhance the sounds from a few games, like Blade.
The narration on this is from 2019, so the microphone now sounds cleaner, and without the hiss. All of the later Roman Holiday films were narrated with this new setup.
I noticed when played the Dizzys Easter Eggstravaganza it ran very quickly, but I was too lazy to switch to a 000 chipset and play it at the right speed. ha-ha. I assume this game was perhaps a demo of Fast Food or Kwik Snax, but I bet the Oliver Twins never saw it, so therefore its probably a rip-off. ;)
I have a soft spot for City Cars, even though its a frustrating game and barely playable. Blade also looks like a classic RPG, so perhaps including that game on this list was unfair? But it reminded me so much of X-com and those Sabre Team types that I just couldnt take it seriously. The hammy voiced speech in the cave was the clincher for me.
Look out for the final part of this epic sega next time.
