I remember playing this game for the first time (as the MS-DOS version) back in the haydays of 1997, and 15 years later I'm still playing it. Ha.

This video is of the Windows-95/98 port of the original MS-DOS version; by Mountain King Studios (The same guys involved in the Raiden-like Demonstar as well as being the ones that made the original Raptor: CotS game while still as Cygnus Software - as far as I know, they're still around, although they haven't published any new games in recent years); so there are noticeable differences in graphics and the music.

I played this game in about 10 different segments and then combined it all together under one video - so if there's any differences in sound volume and frame skipping, it's most likely due to this. (Bravo Sector 6 to 9 was recorded in 50fps, the rest in 60fps)

Recorded with Fraps 3.4.6; which meant that certain parts of the game wasn't properly recorded. namely the "fade" between levels, as well as the wall of text you get when you complete the final boss of any 9th level of a sector. I also cut out all the shopping and restocking parts.

This video contains no Easter Egg enemies. You get them if you match the date with any of the program's predetermined dates.

My favourite round would probably be Outer-7, mainly because it's the only one with a land-based mid-way boss and one of the rarer times when I actually managed to destroy all parts of it [in Elite difficulty is rather difficult, specially those lasers]

Either way, enjoy this small piece of Nostalgia!
