Streamed/Recorded on 1-2-23. After being pushed down an elevator shaft by a Replika named Adler,Elster finds herself in a new area of the Mining Facility. There's about 3 floors worth of areas to explore here,and many of the doors start off locked. I would say this area goes a little bit overboard with the keys. Resident Evil does the whole use this key item to get another key item thing,but typically not to the extent this game does in this area. Just a bit much. You also end up needing to find a Flashlight around here,as some rooms are dark and the doors won't open without a light source. A new Replika enemy can be found wandering around here,called Star Units. These dudes carry shields,and you'll have to wait for them to lower it to hurt them. Another new type you'll run into is a more rare type,called Kolibri Units. These guys affect your psyche with mental attacks. The easiest way to beat them is to tune your Radio to the frequency that displays on screen a few times. After finding many bird-themed keys to progress through the various floors,we eventually do a puzzle revolving around a star/planet map and a safe combination. I wasn't crazy about this puzzle. Solving it nets you the Administrator's Key needed to access an elevator,which takes us down into the actual Mines. We also find a Flare Gun,which when fired at an enemy,can instantly incinerate them.
