Omsi 2: How to remove the Speed Limiter of a bus *Tutorial*
98Are you tired of speed limiters in Omsi 2 slowing you down? Making you run late? Well in this Omsi 2 tutorial I show you exactly how you can remove the speed limiter from most buses in Omsi 2, including all UK buses, most LHD buses and HK buses. Removing or changing the speed limiter of a bus in Omsi 2 is actually an extremely simple thing to do, that takes no more than a few seconds. Changing the speed limiter of the bus is the same for most buses and involves editing a bit of code in the engine const file, however in some buses the code may appear slightly differently, but the process is the same.
For the purpose of this tutorial I remove the speed limiter of the Enviro C400R and the Enviro 200MMC in Omsi 2, but the process is the same for most buses. One thing to note is that the speed a bus can achieve is linked to the points under Max Throttle in the const file. So some buses like the Enviro 200 MMC will actually reach a top speed of about 82.9km/h, thus if you are looking to change the top speed of a bus, you will have to follow the steps I used for the Enviro 200 MMC. However, bear in mind that when you are adding points to the Max Throttle, the values used for the Enviro 200MMC may not work with other buses.
I also apologies for the muffled sound heard in the background due to the speakers, it was my first time using the mic and as such it was not configured properly, that is why when I show you the buses with the speed limiter in game I have added the music to silence the audio, as it was not configured correctly, apologies. However if you look at the speedometer of the buses or in the top left corner, you will see the London Citybus 400 accelerate past 98km/h: the speed it was previously limited to. And you will also see the Enviro 200MMC accelerate past 80km/h the speed that it was previously limited to.
Note: I strongly suggest you create a back up of your engine const files, as if a gap or error is made in the code, it will break your bus!
