On Borrowed Wings - Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon - Part 5
Lots of exciting things this video! I wasn't seeing some of these coming. Lots of new questions and much to come still. We also take on some pretty tough faces in the Arena.
I'm noticing quite a bit of noise picks up from the triggers of my controller to use the arm weapons. I also think this is related to where I set my mic from it, but I didn't pick up on this until too late. Didn't occur to me that it could be a bit intrusive to the audio. My mic is a desktop one, so I'm not sure yet how to account for that better than using the controller under my desk, but then I'm lacking a reasonable surface to set it on. I may just need to experiment with placements more in due time.
Armored Core series is a mech customization series of immense depth by From Software. It's by far one of my favorite series I've ever played, and one that goes back to my roots with AC2 as a kid. Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon is the newest of the series including much culmination of modernized engine, and gameplay behaviors and features for Fromsoft. It's very pretty, and it's a series for the player who likes to experiment and try out things. It takes advantages of the fuller environmental field to the limitations of the designs choices of your mech. You control the movement, the attacking, the stability, and efficiency of how the mech is put together, decorate it however you want, and master piloting it the ways you're hoping to. Most of your learning curve takes as much place in your garage as it will in the field. The sooner you're comfortable with that, the more you can draw out of the design of how the game can operate. Multiple playthroughs are encouraged for more selection, more missions, and even entire new challenges and endings. In mission replay, you can gauge performance to completing a mission out of the ideal standards for it and really fine tune your abilities and familiarity.
