Shadow of the Erdtree Trailer - Lore Speculation
In this video I'll talk about some peculiar details I'm taking in relative to how I understand the rest of the lore. Keep in mind I've put as much as over 1000 hours into Elden ring, trying different engagements, 7 full playthroughs, inspecting nooks and crannies, and even more unusual details to topic than I wave around in this video. I'm caught up with Vaati's videos on topics, I've watched a decent bit of Quelaag's, Ziostorm's, and even Miss Chalice's lore videos up to this point. Smoughtown also does decent work, if you're new to much of the lore and mysteries, give any of these channels a watch along with Tarnished Archaeologist and Hawkshaw. All these people are absolute legends. But above all else, I'm anything except unfamiliar with Elden Ring lore. I even discuss and debate it when not making videos and hunt for unusual details that stand out to me as a bit out of place. And I've done the same for Dark Souls 3 to realize Lothric presence in Archdragon Peak and Gilligan accompanying Sulyvahn from the painted world that bigger channels don't seem to have pieced together.
This video will include a sort of advanced context of much that is happening and found and applies it with some of my own theory of Elden Ring's writing process and possible traits of the coming lore. This theory is one I've been in practice of investigating of Elden Ring for over a year now, and I call it the Inverse Lore Theory of DS3 to Elden Ring. Saying it flat out, it maybe sounds lazy until observing the actual lengthy detailing of the practice of it into Elden Ring's abstract nature. By then you might be wondering how they've pulled it off so well. From there is where I believe the color theory comes in to help balance the equation and benefits the design as more majestic and rich with color and life, but this is also no small part on George R R Martin's contribution of world building fundamentals that coincide this and step it a bit further from a more bleak nature that is Dark Souls, but still capable of grueling twists.
While I was wrapping up editing this video I had overheard a speculation of the Godskins looking a bit like Messmer. I don't know the original source as I seen it mentioned of on Twitter, but I absolutely love the creativity that gives room to as a concept to talk about. It addresses well of the fact to where we see the Godskins being well suited to iconography in this trailer and of Messmer. This however leaves more questions about Godrick's possession of the Godskin prayerbook and seal. I'm also curious if Messmer's other eye could be another Melina gloam eye scenario of the Two Fingers' shadows.
Whichever the case, we won't have a proper likely answer until the DLC releases. I am absolutely excited to find out.
