The game starts with the player inheriting a mighty armored Dragon from a dying Dragon Rider whose last wish it is that the player character from now on takes care of his beloved Dragon. In doing so the player is thrown into massive aerial warfare throughout various environments, ranging from crystal clear lakes over industry complexes, caverns, deserts and ultimately the enemies capitol and has to be very aware of his sourroundings and quick in his decision making if he wishes to see the task fulfilled.
The game is, as the name already suggests, a remake of the Sega Saturn classic "Panzer Dragoon" from 1995 which is at least in some versions is one of the most expensive video games to collect from the used games market, so it was in dire need of a modern adaption that is affordable, and "Panzer Dragoon Remake" offers this. A remake of the sequel, "Panzer Dragoon II: Zwei" has been announced and was planned for a release in 2021, but so far, nothing has been released yet and it has become quite quite around this project.
An unfortunate circumstance, but hope dies last that it will still see the light of day. And maybe we even can get the legendary (and legendary expensive) "Panzer Dragoon Saga" afterwards as well as an affordable remake.

Das Spiel startet damit, dass man von einem sterbenden Drachenreiter einen mächtigen gepanzerten Drachen übernimmt und dessen letzten Wunsch erfüllt, sich um seinen geliebten Drachen zu kümmern. Dadurch gerät man in massive Luftschlachten welche einen durch vielfältige Umgebungen führen, von kristallklare Seen über Wüsten, Höhlen und Industriekomplexe bis letzendlich hin zur feindlichen Hauptstadt und muss dabei sehr auf seine Umgebung achten so wie blitzschnelle Entscheidungen treffen können wenn man die einem auferlegte Bürde meistern will.
Das Spiel ist wie der Name schon sagt ein Remake des 1995 erschienen Sega Saturn-Klassikers "Panzer Dragoon" welches zumindest in einigen bestimmten Versionen zu den teuersten vom Gebrauchtmarkt zu erstehenden Videospielen zählt, von dahe war eine moderne Adaption des Werkes, die man sich auch leisten kann dringend notwendig und dieses Remake erfüllt diesen Umstand. Ein Remake des Nachfolgers "Panzer Dragoon II: Zwei" wurde zwar seinerzeit für 2021 angekündigt, jedoch bis heute nicht veröffentlicht und es ist um dieses Projekt sehr ruhig geworden.
Eine unglückliche Entwicklung, doch die Hoffnung dass das Projekt doch noch erscheint stirbt zuletzt. Und vielleicht bekommen wir ja sogar eines Tages auch das legendäre (und legendär teure) "Panzer Dragoon Saga" als Remake.
