Eine Stunde Gameplay von "Soul Calibur III", einem Fighting Game entwickelt und veröffentlicht von Namco im Jahre 2005 für die Playstation 2 so wie im Jahr 2006 (!) für Arcade-Maschinen, hier gezeigt in seiner Playstation 2-Version.
Wie üblich bei einem Fighting Game hat man die Auswahl aus einer großen Riege aus Kämpfern, von klein und schnell über ausgeglichen bis hin zu groß und langsam ist vom Kombokettenverknüpfer bis hin zum technischen Perfektionisten für so ziemlich jeden Spielstil etwas geboten, und wem das nicht reicht, der kann sich immer noch im extrem umfangreichen Charakter-Editor seinen eigenen Kämpfer zurechtbasteln, sowohl vom Aussehen her als auch vom Kampfstil.
Und wem der normale typische Arcade-Mode des Spiels zu langweilig ist, der kann sich auch im "Chroniken des Schwerts"-Modus, einer Mischung aus Strategie- , Rollenspiel und Fighting Game vergnügen. Zusätzlich gibt es noch eine ganze Menge an Extramaterial freizuschalten, es ist möglich Kunstgalerien zum Betrachten so wie Ausrüstungsgegenstände für selbst erstellte Kämpfer zu kaufen und auch sonst lässt das Spiel eigentlich keine Wünsche offen. Und dann wären da auch noch die fantastische Präsentation in Hinsicht auf Story, Musik, Kämpfe, Ansager-Stimme und vielem, vielem mehr. Hab ich schon die freischaltbaren Charaktere erwähnt oder das es sich fantastisch spielt, für Einsteiger und Veteranen gleichermaßen?
Ernsthaft, was soll ich über dieses Content-Monster groß schreiben?
Außer, dass eine einzelne Stunde "Soul Calibur III" bei Weitem nicht ausreicht, um all das zu zeigen, was dieses fantastische Spiel und meiner Meinung nach eins der allerbesten Fighting Games aller Zeiten bietet.
Gezeigt haben wollte ich es trotzdem, denn meiner ganz persönlichen Ansicht nach handelt es sich bei diesem Titel mit gewaltigem Abstand um das beste Fighting Game der Playstation 2, welches sich immer noch fantastisch spielt, rund 20 Jahre später.

As usual for a fighting game the player can chose from a broad variety of fighters ranging from small and fast or medium average all the way up to strong and slow, it offers all styles for the combo chain player as well as for technical perfectionists and whoever still isn't satisfied by that selection is able to create one's very own unique fighter in the massive character editor, creating the appereance as well as the fighting style.
And for whomever the typical Arcade Mode isn't enough or too boring, those can also play the "Chronicles of the Sword" mode, a strategy / RPG / fighting game genre mix. Additionally there is tons of stuff to unlock, art galery assets, new characters, weapon skins and new weapons for each fighter, outfits and armors for the fighter creation mode...this game fulfils every fighting game desire one can dream of.
And then there's as well the stellar presentation in terms of story, music, gameplay, announcer voice and many many more things that this game just does very, very right. Did I already mention the unlockable characters or that it plays fantastically well for beginners as for veterans alike?
Seriously, what is there that could I write about this content monstrosity?
Except that only one hour is barely enough to show you everything this fantastic game and in my humble opinion one of the very best fighting games of all times offers to the player.
I still wanted to show it, since as I see it we have the very best fighting game for the Playstation 2 here, by a country mile that still holds up extremely well to this very day, nearly 20 years later.
