One Hour Of "Speed Punks" (also known as "Speed Freaks" in the EU), a fun kart racer developed by Funcom Dublin Ltd. and published by Sony in 1999 (EU) / 2000 (NA) for the first Playstation.
In the game the player can chose between a different selection of drivers, all with their own stats in terms of acceleration, top speed and handling, much like in the similar "Mario Kart" franchise and other types of this game. Various cups, tracks and weapon systems to chose from to fight nail and tooth for the pole position are also part of the game.
A rather wacky presentation and floaty handling of the karts prevented this game from racing into the top league of fun kart racing games, but back at its time, when there werent much of these types of games for the first Playstation it still was a fun experience.
Eine Stunde Gameplay von "Speed Freaks" (in Nordamerika auch bekannt als "Speed Punks"), einem Fun Kart Rennspiel entwickelt von Funcom Dublin Ltd. und veröffentlicht von Sony im Jahre 1999 (EU) / 2000 (NA) für die erste Playstation.
Im Spiel kann der Spieler aus einer Auswahl an Fahrern auswählen, welche sich alle in Werten wie Beschleunigung, Höchstgeschwindigkeit und Handling unterscheiden, recht ähnlich wie z.B. in der "Mario Kart"-Reihe und anderen ähnlichen Vertretern des Genres. Unterschiedliche Meisterschaften, Strecken so wie Waffensystem um nach aller Kraft für die Pole Position zu kämpfen sind ebenso Bestandteil des Spiels.
Eine recht schräge Präsentation und eine schwammige Handhabung der Karts verhinderten die Einfahrt in die Top-Liga der Fun-Kart-Rennspiele, aber für die damalige Zeit, als es auf der ersten Playstation nicht all zu viel Auswahl an Spielen dieser Art gab, war es dennoch eine spaßige Erfahrung.
