Eine Stunde Gameplay von "The Last Guardian", einem Action-Adventure entwickelt von Japan Studio und GenDesign und veröffentlicht von Sony im Jahre 2016 für die Playstation 4.
Im Spiel übernimmt man die Rolle eines namenlosen Jungen der gleich zu Beginn des Spiels mit einer gewaltigen und gefährlich scheinenden Beste eingesperrt wird, doch schnell lernen die Beiden einander zu vertrauen und zu helfen. Unter dieser Prämisse gilt es, in Teamarbeit Rätsel zu lösen, tödliche Fallen zu überwinden und auch den ein oder anderen Kampf zu bestehen auf dem Weg in die Freiheit.
Als eine Art geistiger Nachfolger zu den bis heute Kult-Status habenden PS2-Spielen "ICO" und "Shadow of the Colossus" welche ebenfalls aus der Feder von Fumito Ueda stammen, war das mediale Interesse an "The Last Guardian" natürlich besonders groß und die Erwartungen besonders hoch.
Auch wenn "The Last Guardian" nie ganz den Kultstatus seiner beiden geistigen Vorgänger erreichen konnte so wird in diesem Spiel doch eine berührende und interessante Geschichte ohne Worte erzählt, die es wert ist, erlebt zu werden.

In the game the player assumes the role of a nameless boy who right at the beginning of the game is imprisoned with a massive and seemingly dangerous beast, but quickly the two learn to trust and help each other. With this premise it is up to the player to solve puzzles in teamwork, overcome deadly traps and to make it through a few fights on their way into freedom.
As a kind of spiritual successor for the two PS2 cult classics "ICO" and "Shadow of the Colossus" which also were designed by Fumito Ueda the media interest for the game as well as the expectations towards it were very high.
But even though "The Last Guardian" never climbed the cult highs of its spiritual predecessors, it still tells an emotionally engaging and interesting story without any words which is worth to be experienced.
